Sad to hear about Pam. We went through most of the grade together. She was a wonderful person.

I've been thinking about writing here since this website was up...I have so many thoughts about Pam...recently found some letters she had written to me at college, she was a great friend who overcame many obstacles on her short journey through this life. In any case, for those who don't know, Pam died in the winter of 1980 in a car accident. I don't remember now if the car that crashed (into a tree) was her little beige VW bug or not but if it was that car, I'm glad that she and that car went together. I have fond memories of Pam and her VW and the many times we zipped to the deli at lunch, or the beach on the weekend, or just sat in the neighborhood near the school anticipating the sound of the bell...that car was part of our life.

I'm rambling.

The things I remember about Pam are the many moments we spent, unsupervised, at her house, listening to Dream Weaver, trying to get the perfect tan at the community pool, the way she separated her eyelashes with a pin (that always freaked me out), her great smile, her kindness, vulnerability, genuine nature, and the many boys who liked her. She always seemed surprised that she was so likable. I also remember that she loved cats, that we shared dieting strategies, and that she spent a lot of time raising herself. She did a wonderful job and I miss her frequently...
